I have just finished making a site for my brother Blair. Check it out at [ www.geocities.com/land_of_blair ].

As an aside, I had a great new idea in the shower ths morning (yes – in the shower – its where I get all of my best ideas, in fact studies have shown that most people feel better and think better in the rain / shower / bath etc. I believe its something to do with the water/steam in the air removes any dust particles, making it easier for the lungs to absorb the oxygen from the air, meaning your get my oxygen in the blood per breath – but I digress).

The “space elevator” concept is one that I have known about for a while, however today I had a new idea – the space esculator. All you need is a giant air tight tube, and a heap of large magnetic disks.

Basically, each disk ‘floats’ above the previous one, so if you keep pushing in a new disk at the bottom level the ones above it will move up. With enough disks and a giant circular tube, you can have a giant esculator/elevator cross.

To travel, all you would have to do is get on at the bottom floor by steping in between two of the giant disks (or if you want to travel in style, you could have a capsule in between the disks). Then its a case of sit back and enjoy the ride…

Ok, so there may be a few minor problems (like gravity and all) but nothing that doesn’t make the idea worth thinking about in the shower or rain next time you get the chance…
