Time for an update – these things seem to becomming more weekly (and only by me???)
Anyway, time for an update. After mortally wounding myself last week (or at least mortally wounding any scrap of dignity I may have had left), I was slowly on the road to recovery.
On Sat/Sun I was finally able to remove the bandages off my fingers and my foot was looking better. That was until Monday morning when the glue on my foot decided to tear itself away from my foot, consequently leaving me with a large life threatening gash in my foot again. Luckily through my own skill and courage I managed to strap it up, stopping the bleeding just in time to avoid fatal blood loss. Despite that state of murky haze that signifies imence pain and severe lack of blood, I still managed to struggle through a day of death defying desk sitting. (Note – some creative licence may apply).
Anyway, back to reality, I then helped an old lady cross the road, managed to save a small dog from being squished by a car, saved a building from earthquake destruction , and mastered putting on a lycra suit with my underpants on the outside while spinning around in a phone booth.
Ok, I think we should try that ‘reality version’ again… After work I ended up at afterhours again to see if they could do any more – this led to two days off work doing nothing – and a set of crutches to help keep the weight off my foot entirely for a few days :-/
In other news, Donna and Megan are both in Wellington at the moment. We spent last Sunday catching up with Donna as it is the first ime in ages that we have had a chance to catch up with her.
Last night we went out to tea with both of them as a farewell to Megan who is heading to England on her big OE in about a month. It was great to catch up with them!
Anyway, I suppose I should get back to some real work and organise a betting pool for the ‘crutches races’ around the office.
