Hitchhikers are dangerous, and not just because they stand on the side of the road and put themselves in harms way – but because they create havoc with the traffic especially when dumb drivers decide to pick them up. And why you may ask have I decided to pick on Hitchhikers today?? Well picture this…..

I am driving down a particularly steep part of road – this is a link between different motorway on and off ramps, there isn’t much traffic so we are definitely moving at slightly over the speed limit. I am in the left hand lane and there is a white van on my right. 2/3’s of the way down, there are hitchhikers…. now this a stupid place to try and get a lift. If they needed to be on the motorway they should have tried to get a lift on the other side of the intersection, especially as they are standing beside yellow lines (the lines are there for a reason). Anyway, I am driving along quiet happily, thinking how stupid the hitch-hikers are, and then suddenly the white van is in my lane (no signalling) and then it just stopped (on yellow lines) I hit te breaks and only just stopped before hitting it. If this wasn’t bad enough the van’s reversing lights came on and it started moving towards me… so I waited for the cars in the right lane to go past and then i quickly moved…. However by know the whole left lane had stopped. And what was so important the van had to totally screw-up the flow of traffic – the dizzy blonde female driver wanted to pick up the stupid hitch-hikers, who she had driven past and want to reverse up he road to pick up.

In other news, my car failed its warrent – something about the handbrake not working….
