Well I decided to bite the bullet and I made up my mind on a camera!

Last weekend I brought a nice shiny new Canon 300d. Its amazing!

Thats right, I ended up going for the cheaper of teh 3, and it turned out to be a great option. As I’m still learning the ins and outs of an SLR camera, the restrictions that this camera has compared to the other two are actually not a problem at all.

And, to make things even better, I managed to squeeze a 2nd lens within my original budget. So for the cost of one of the other two cameras alone, I managed to get a full kit including…

  • the 300d itself

  • a 1G compact flash card

  • a bag

  • a 18mm-55mm lens (equivalent to a 27-85mm)

  • a 55mm-200 lens (equiv 85-300mm!!!)

  • two UV lens filters

  • a 2nd battery

  • we even convinced the guy to throw in 100 prints

    • So overall I’m a very happy boy (especially with getting such a good deal)!

    Anyway, expect to see some test shots pop up on the site – or at least they will once I have upgraded to some more space 🙂
