Well its been a while since the last update…
The main reason for this is the fact that I have been away for 2 1/2 weeks with work. I just arrived back yesterday (so I’m a little sleepy at the moment so please excuse any typos etc).
Now the concept of 2 weeks traveling through London, Spain and Germany sounds rather exciting on face value although 4 different cities, 3 different languages and 4 different hotels all gets rather exhausting… especially when its only in the first week.
Anyway, ignoring the work things… I managed to spend the last weekend with Fraser (my oldest brother) which was great fun. We headed off to the British Grand Prix in his VW Comby (Bonnie). After a grueling day watching qualifying while sitting in the sun drinking, we headed back to Bonnie to open the fridge and drink some more. The rest is a bit of a blur but I do remember thinking that I need a mobile fridge, as Bonnie kept beer ice cold for hours!
Anyway, the next day was race day… I never imagined just how quick the F1 cars actually are, and coincidentally how incredibly ‘ear shattering’ loud they are. According I have more than my share of photos of ‘half a car’ as I tried to snap some shots of them travelling at high speed.
As an aside, I remember how addictive online auction sights can be. Just when I thought I had finally managed to kick the TradeMe habit, I pick up a huge bargain on ebay.co.uk. Now I can feel my self drawn back to the auction habit. By waiting till the Friday night before racing, I managed to pick up a seated ticket for Sat/Sun for less than what an unseated ticket was worth.
As a final note, Fraser and Vicki even paid for half my race ticket as an engagement present. I haven’t actually owned up to Sarah yet that this was the case, so if your reading this then I would appreciate if you could just avoid the subject…
