Ok, well after a two week break from updating (we had a weeks holiday) we are back.

Todays questions is “Why does our friend Maxwell get hasseled for being an evil genius?”…

The weekend started peacefully with nice weather, birds chirping, and no Maxwell. Although that was soon to change with Maxwell turning up, the rain arriving and boxes of fireworks being opened.

We went to a party on Sat, and after drinking a lot of beer, Maxwell and I proceeded to set up our entire $10 worth in a single line as we normally do. After setting it off everyone decided they were better on bulk than they were individually so they all gave us their fireworks and left us to it.

It was at this stage that Maxwells first signs of evilness started to appear for the night. At the party was a group of 14 year old girls (no nick – this isn’t going where you think it is), and one 14 year old boy was with them (boyfriend I think). So naturally, the 14 your old boy was rather intrigued by what we were doing.

So instead of discouraging him from playing with fireworks, Maxwell handed him the torch to hold and continued to explain each of the key secrects of joining fireworks to him… thus ensuring that there will be another generation of kids who will risk burning their eyebrows off on a annual basis…

Anyway, with a little corruption out of the way, it was time to roll out the big toys. Thats right, it wouldn’t be an ‘Annual Fireworks Bonanza’ without the ‘Sparkler Trick’*.

So, with 320 sparklers in hand we set about gathering a crowd out onto the street…

This year was a little different, and Sarah decided to try and photograph the event (for the first time ever).

Now, I would like to draw your attention to the various reactions of people in the picture…

Now, I’m sure you will understand just why Maxwell is seen to be a little evil after checking out his reaction and comparing it to the rang of reactions above 🙂

* Note: the above does not imly in anyway that we have/would use fireworks in any way other than specifically intended. THe above picture has of course been made in photoshop as clearly Maxwell and I would never do anything as dangerious as setting off more than one sparkler at a time or strap multipule sparklers together.
