On Friday I went to my xmas work function, which was Ten Pin Bowling. Now I do have to say that the bowling places up here are nothing compared to the one down in Christchurch.

To start with this was only a 12 or 14 lanes compared to the 24 at Garden City. The animations on the screens where nothing compared to the highly entertaining ones that kept us amused for ever….. But the biggest problem was the lack in music and atmosphere. There was no big screen for the video clips, no juke-box playing songs, yes there was a pool table, a couple of video games and the pokies – but it just didn’t compare.

There was also a surprising limit to the amount of bowling balls!!! It was a struggle to find one that I could bowl with (ie there were very few light ones). Anyway – I found a ball that I could use so it was all good.

Anyway – after telling everyone that I was no good ( as normally I can’t get anything more than 80 odd), I got a strike on the first go…… but that is where my luck ended. I kept getting nine pins down and then missing the 10th by mm’s!!! Game one I ended on 100 and the second game (I crumbled under the pressure) and got 86 (or something).

But what this story is all about is that Christchurch has the best bowling place!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Might have to go there next time I am down.
