”Excuse me sir… do you have time for a quick pat?
and how about a smile?”
I have been trying to work out for a couple of days what my 100th blip should be… I had some ideas, but nothing firm…
Up this morning, running late… car was iced up… running even later…
S1’s last day at her current job…
can’t afford to be late…
but…
look at that sky.

Into the car… but look at that!
I didn’t ask permission so much as beg forgiveness in advance as I pulled the car of into a clearing.
All other thoughts for my 100th had gone. This was it.
Must be quick though.
A silhouetted stalk hanging on for winter.
Or perhaps my favourite of the day – a symbolic shot?
I must have been stressed… 100 blips… running late…
I wasn’t smiling???
Thats not what blip is about!
This isn’t the joy blip has been bringing me for the last 100 days!
And then, while I was busy looking for my 100th blip, it found me…
It crept up, slowly at first…
And then I broke into that smile 100 blips deserve.
He must have known what I needed… as he stood for just long enough for 2 shots…
and then with a nudge of his nose he asked…
“Excuse me sir, do you have time for a pat? And a smile?”
And I’ve been smiling about it all day.
And its this that my last 100 blips have taught me:
Open your eyes and you’ll find yourself smiling at the most unexpected moments.
