Spent the evening on the couch watching last nights superbowl (watched it until around 12.30 last night – too late).
I love american football.
S1 watched it as well. I think she enjoyed it.
I got a bit excited towards the end (go Giants) and I think it rubbed off on her.
We both realised whats wrong with soccer (sorry, ‘football’) here in the UK.
Rugby, League, American Football. Real men. Real tackles. Guys putting everything on the line, mentally and physically.
Soccer… men who play up a lot and roll around on the ground when someone gets too close to them.
Don’t get me wrong – I like soccer as a sport… I just wish they would harden up a bit.
Although, I will give them one thing – the fans here are passionate! The chanting. The cheering. The noise.
I suppose they are just different.
But I’ve always just preferred the American version.

Edit: S1 was talking to mum…
Mum: thought of him yesterday when the superbowl was on – from little he always raced home from school and sat in front of tv to watch it
Must be exciting for him to sit still for any length of time
S1: and he still does – he beat me home tonight and was watching it
