the city bustled around us

the noise seemed to rattle in the air

mixing with the heat

and wrapping us in a smothering muggy cacophony

as we ducked inside

instantly the cool air pushed past us

releasing us

leaving the world behind

and there it was

what I knew would be my blip for the day

the outside noise and heat

making a final effort to catch us again

streaming in the only gap it could find

basking a small group of inviting chairs

i took a moment

then lifted the camera to my eye

and then

it was back into the suffocating streets
