BACKBLIPPED Oct 2013
In our travels today we found this beautiful Basilica – the site of a major pilgrimage to commemorate St Anne the patron saint of Brittany.
In the garden is a huge memorial and a wall, which seems to go forever, and is inscribed with the names of all the Bretons killed in WW1. It is very sobering to see how the wars decimated this area, and how resilient the people have been eventhough a huge proportion of their young men were killed.
