it hit hard about 9pm last night

a wind came from nowhere

then the lightning hit with a Crack

it was close, very close

and then a deafening rumble came over the horizon

travelling fast

building in volume

until the large pelting drops that were causing the roar engulfed us

the water levels rose

one minute, an inch

the next, two

the neighbours ran for their brooms

desperately trying to stop the torrent reaching the lip of the door

meanwhile

S1 and I

ran for our cameras

its lightning after all!
