Moving to the UK has been an eye opener…

As a kid, all of the kids books referred to the 4 seasons as defined, distinct, events.

There was never really any grey areas between them…

It always confused me, as I grew up in a land where leaves falling from the trees and long summer nights could co-exist. Frosty mornings and spring flowers waged a 2 month fight.

You can imagine how surreal it was for us to wake up yesterday to find that overnight Autumn had arrived.

The trees are turning, the wind has cooled, the fields now lie empty and the sun sits low in the sky… Autumn is here and winter won’t be far behind.

So today, we went for our first autumn walk…

The cool autumn wind and short sleeves a reminder of what the following months will bring.
