These beautiful flies were given to gd via blip – thanks [url=http://www.blipfoto.com/xtine]xtine[/url] for sending them from the north to the south, and thanks [url=http://www.blipfoto.com/hpx]hpx[/url] for giving them to us. Now they are heading to our southern lakes as we have a weeks holiday in Wanaka with friends from Guernsey.

I have never seen such huge flies – in the wild or in the fishing stores – but if the wind stays away we should be able to catch a fish big enough to feed us for a week ……… we think the colours are stunning so hope our fish are tempted to take a snap at them. Watch this space to see the outcome ……………. although last time we went fishing with these friends all he caught was his shorts!!
