What ever happened to glass milk bottles?

I guess at some point cleaning used bottles became more expensive than plastic ones?

I wonder if they factored into that they cost to the environment of manufacturing, or if it was just a bean counters decision.

I wonder if accounting will ever catch up with our new world where the straight cost isn’t actually the only cost?
