I have had a successful day – caught up on work this morning and was then enticed into the garden to make a start on my spring clean up. I know the weather is deceptively mild and won’t last, but there are new shoots on the roses, the daffodils are well through the ground, the daphne is flowering and smells divine………… and the weeds are rampant!!

Mollyanme walked up to the Sign of the Takehe late afternoon and caught this glimpse of the sunset through the gateway into the garden. It was wonderful to not need jacket, scarf and gloves ………. and the longer evenings meant we had plenty of time to walk home still in daylight.

Edit – I took two photos – one with the gate and one without. Layered them and erased the overexposed sky from the image with the gate. Then just tweaked it a little with levels, shadows/highlights, some dodge and burn, and slight sharpen. Maybe I should have reduced the colour in the sky a bit – but that is what it looked like 🙂
