Thank you for all your enthusiastic comments on The [url=http://www.blipfoto.com/view.php?id=661062&month=7&year=2010]Sign of the Takehe[/url] yesterday. I was very surprised as it was a very quick shot taken with a point and shoot while out walking the dog – it is amazing how the light at the right instant in time can have such an impact on an image.

I decided to go back there today, at the same time (sunset), and take a photo from the end of the path which disappeared into the distance yesterday. I have included the sundial which could be seen in the distance, and I crouched by the gateway on the left hand side of the building to take yesterday’s photo. It is quite an imposing building although this perspective doesn’t emphasise its size and grandeur.

One comment made me realise (again) how wonderful blip is – [url=http://www.blipfoto.com/raf]raf[/url], who lives near Valencia in Spain, said that he and his wife were married here. I live only 2 kms from this site, and he lives almost 20,000kms away, yet we both have an emotional attachment to this wonderful building and we can share that on blip 🙂
