Travelled on a bus tour to Cape Reinga, the northern tip of NZ. It is a spiritual place as in Maori tradition this is the departure point for the spirits of the dead as they journey to the underworld. From the lighthouse here we look out to where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet.

Took heaps of photos of 90 mile beach, sandboarding on some very high sand dunes, the Cape Reinga lighthouse, Spirits bay, and Cape Maria van Dieman … but I have chosen the mugs in which our mid morning coffees were served 🙂

Another place ticked off our list – the journey to this unique part of our country is a must do for every kiwi.
