When I was small,

My amazing Mother used to amaze me with her ability to create with her hands.

actually, that statement is wrong,

One memory sticks in my mind…

One year she asked what I would like for a birthday cake,

I announced “a space rocket”,

she looked puzzled, and asked me to draw what I was thinking…

a short while later, I returned, a little demoralised

what I had drawn, looked nothing like what I had hoped

all I had was a shaky looking, tube shaped rocket.

yet, two days later,

smiled as she amazed me once again

a fully iced, shuttle shaped, cake emerged.

it was unforgettable

So this year, S1 asked me a similar question,

what would I like…

for your 30th…

and I announced

I’d like to learn the magic my Mum had.

S1 simply replied,

“Ok,

what do we need?”

she’s good like that.
