I had to go into the city today so went for a wander around the Victoria St and Art Centre area. There are many buildings being demolished, or are barricaded awaiting a decision on their future viability.

Three weeks ago I would have captured the original Girls High School in the foreground – but now it is just one of the many empty spaces which are appearing about our city. At least the apartment building in the background looks vertical – many of the tall buildings are on a very definite lean because of liquifaction beneath them!!

We will be living in a strange place for a while, but hard decisions need to be made so our city can recover.
