Wouldn’t want to have a close encounter with these!!

Have seen this 1m high cactus many times and today is its turn to be a blipstar. It is growing wild beside the road near Waipara – a region best known for growing grapes and producing excellent wine.

BTW – had a fun night at the quiz last night. We only went along because we won a fundraising quiz a couple of weeks ago and received meal vouchers for the bar. However no success last night as we were “generationally challenged” by the music questions!!

But, most importantly, it was a good meal and great night out with friends 🙂
