This week we visited Normandy to see the D Day landing beaches,but first up we had to see the Caen memorial museum. What an amazing place and an incredible tribute to the men who fought in the Normandy region during the D day landing battles, and to the local people who suffered tremendously.

One thing that has struck me is the number of bright and colourful flags which are flying everywhere, and the open appreciation and thanks displayed for allied countries who helped in the liberation of France.
