Watched this sky developing while we were having lunch with a cold souwester howling around our house.

The clouds are swirling because a cold front from the south is meeting a high pressure system in the north creating our infamous Canterbury norwest arch (seen in the distance above the little bit of blue sky).

By the time I took this photo, finished my lunch and processed the image, the wind has dropped, the norwest arch is overhead and I guess that very soon we will be battered by a hot norwester!!

Yep ………… the first blast just hit the western end of our house!!
