Work is chaos at the moment so lunch is a quick bite on the run ………… except gd cannot eat wheat or whole eggs, so that can be a challenge. Thank goodness for my stash of Cookie Times in the cupboard.

30 years ago our eldest son was given a huge chocolate chip cookie by a man at the school gate. Alarm bells rang for me, and time for a wee chat about stranger danger. But F assured me that the man was giving cookies to everyone and there were lots of adults there as well. Strange, I thought, but had to agree the cookie was very unusual and very yummy.

Cookie Time is now a NZ icon because one creative guy began baking cookies in his one bedroomed flat, and marketed them in imaginative, customer focussed ways. He is now a major employer and contributor to the Canterbury economy, and to kids in NZ with a charitable trust for dyslexia, and encouraging innovative learning for children.
