I have an amazing team at work (er… this is one of their cats. Cat’s cat to be specific)
We have had a charity fundraising drive at work and I suggested a quiz night.
In a number of teams I’ve worked in, the suggestion would have come and gone as a ‘good idea, we should look into that’.
But no, this team just got on and made it happen. One member picked up the organising, another did the heavy lifting on the questions and soon enough we had a quiz organised!
All I had to do was turn up with a mic and talk a lot. I think I got the easy job!
The lesson is that the a good team can make a world of difference to a job.
What I like most about the night, it wasn’t just our team having a good time and getting on. More important than that, there was 60 people from our broader department who were doing the same.
It’s amazing, a little bit of shared effort from a few people in my team meant we could share a little bit of exactly what makes our team great.
And then to celebrate, our little group of 5 hit the town on a Wednesday night. A shared hangover on a Thursday morning is apparently the downside of such a great team!
Top work guys.
