A friend and I walked through the Botanical Gardens today to see the displays for the Festival of Flowers. They were excellent 🙂

This Cathedral Replica was made by an 11 year old boy using materials he found in his back yard. He used to go to the Cathedral each Xmas to put gifts under the tree, but he couldn’t do that last year because of the earthquake damage, so he decided built his own cathedral. Very clever – and much appreciated by us ……… but not by vandals who attacked and damaged it, and several other displays during Saturday night 🙁

I cannot understand the mindlessness of people who damage property which has been carefully created to be shared and enjoyed by so many.

In fact I cannot understand the mindlessness of people who damage people, property or possessions at any time.

However we enjoyed our walk – thanks to the garden’s staff and the volunteers who lovingly restored the displays.
