The old saleyards in Christchurch have been a popular spot for squatters in past years. They painted the walls with amazing graffiti – and now it is a popular spot for photographers. It is a derelict building but is in a prime position between Hagley Park and a new motorway and shopping area of the city. Not sure how long these buildings will survive, but they survived the earthquakes without damage, and are definitely a part of Christchurch’s character.
The graffiti is quite stunning – very creative brightly coloured images. However I liked this in black and white, but is better enlarged – brings out the texture and the patterns 🙂
