It was back to the hospital today for another breast feeding clinic. Our little guy is really struggling and has a tongue tie we are working around.
The progress was really good, if this rate of improvement keeps up he won’t have to have the tongue tie snipped.
While it’s tough going, the thing that really makes me smile is S1’s soft determination.
She has never been one to give up on anything she sets her mind to. She has a wonderful calm, soft, determination.
When our little guy is screaming out of feeding frustration, S1 looks as calm and relaxed as ever. She knows what the end goal is, and she is prepared for hard times like this. That calmness rubs off on little CJ as he gives it all another go before screaming again.
Naturally, we aren’t a couple who asks anyone for anything. We know with little CJ we are going to need assistance, but in hindsight (and it pains me to admit it) we were still too slow to go back to the hospital on this one. Preferring to work things out ourselves.
This self reliance has it’s ups and downs, but it’s big progress days like today when that soft determination approach gives it’s payoff.
I’m so proud of just how much of a ‘natural mum’ my S1 is.
