We went to Hobbiton today where the movies Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit have been filmed – what an intriguing site.

The original set was built of temporary materials and was destroyed after LOR. But it was been rebuilt as a permanent mini village to film The Hobbit, and will now remain as a tourist attraction. The houses are so cute and tiny, and miniature details around the village are incredible.

We could picture the movie scenes as we wandered about, and now are keenly awaiting The Hobbit’s release in December – by which time the new developments at this site will be completed – including a pub and function centre.
