Beautiful light this morning so took a quick shot of the city.

Then decided this is a good day to post a record shot of how we look now so I can compare our view in years to come.

The top image is today, and the lower image was taken on 22 Feb 2011 – the day of our devastating earthquake.

The cranes are deconstructing buildings – not constructing which is the usual reason for cranes on a city skyline. As well as the 5 or 6 tall buildings being worked on at the moment, at least another 3 or 4 of the tallest buildings are unsafe and will disappear from our view over the next few months.
