Our Lensbaby Group meet this morning for coffee and chat, and then a wander around city mall to take some photos.

The red zone cordon has been reduced so we could walk through a much greater area than was possible in my previous visits. These two shots were taken on Hereford St.

The first is at the Colombo St end, looking at what used to be the ANZ building through to the Old Post Office/ Information Centre in the square.

The second is at the Oxford Terrace end looking towards Cashel Mall. This used to be The Strip – a vibrant area of offices upstairs, with cafes, restaurants and night clubs opening out to the river bank. A very popular venue for oldies during the day, and youngies during the night. There are plans to begin rebuilding this area very soon (hopefully) – into shops, offices, restaurants and bars, and that will definitely help to restore our central city.
