I’ve been swimming a bit at work since I got back from holiday.

I have a number of cool looking opportunities I can get involved in, but just working through the best options.

Regardless, there is plenty to do, but before I can get to the cool new stuff, I need to help a colleague with a project as she has no one else who can do the level of data analysis and insight needed to drive her business case.

SQL queries nested 4 deep is about the limit of my ability, and in a number of if cases and it’s getting near the limit of my abilities (and the limit of our database tools). I’ve been tearing my hair out for days trying to iron out some errors in the results, but today I finally cracked them.

With the data in hand, we got down to the ‘art’ part of the job to deliver some true innovation.

And with that all sorted out and ready to go, I can finally start on the new work I want to get to.

I love how my job lets me get such a mix of work, combining strategy, creative and science all into a role that lets me dig in and get my hands dirty.
