A workmate in my old office told me once that he had stumbled on an old video tape.
It was unlabelled. He popped it into an old VCR to see what was on it.
He was home alone, the TV flickered into life with a Christmas scene.
He remembers borrowing a video camera one Christmas, but he doesn’t remember filming so much.
Watching it almost brought him to tears. His two young kids burst into life on the screen, just playing about on a Christmas morning.
It was nothing special, just them being them as they were any day at that age.
At least it wasn’t special then. But now time had passed, and they had grown up, those simple little moments became something so special.
I’ve been taking a lot more video ever since. Just small snippets of everyday moments.
The moments I never want to forget.
