We didn’t know what to expect when we arrived in Huatulco but were very pleasantly surprised.
This delightful little Mexican village is relatively unspoilt by tourism (yet!!). It is a holiday spot for locals with a few cruise ships arriving during year, but not mass overload as in many other ports.
We wandered around the village and looked at craft stores, bought some supplies, then headed to the beach. Because it was a public holiday the bars and beach were busy, but we found a quiet area near the cruise pier to swim and soak up some sun in this very pleasant and peaceful bay.
Our cruise ship, Oceania Regatta, is on the left – just a small ship with only 650 passengers, and on the right is an American coast guard, It wasn’t hard to decide which ship we would board at the end of the day!!!
