3 years ago we moved back up to Scotland. Life is far better for us up here, with a lovely home, more time for ourselves, beautiful countryside, and overall the whole family is happier.

On reflection, there are a few things that were good down south. Good friends, the odd trip to London, Legoland on our doorstep, and a 9 mile commute through the countryside (compared to 400 miles on a plane).

However, expensive houses, expensive living, long work hours, less 'quality family time', and constant hustle and bustle got very tiring… as did home counties traffic!
