We might be making progress with the repair of our home 🙂

26 months ago Lumley were ready to start repairs – engineering report and scope of works all completed and builders waiting to start.

But EQC didn’t agree with the engineers report

So we waited ….

3 months for a dispute resolution/joint inspection by Lumley and EQC

5 months in the “secret” department while the review was resolved

7 months in Fletcher Central

11 months in the hub – mainly with EQR technical

During that time every one of the 35 ‘experts’ who visited our home told us it was over cap, so too expensive for EQC to repair and should go to our insurance

But still EQR insisted on sending more engineers & contractors to inspect and report on our home

Last Thursday we were told our repair was over cap so would go to Lumley for repairs YAY 🙂

Today we had a visit from Lumley to inspect the damage and work out the plan for our repair YIPPEE 🙂

Fingers crossed that we may now make progress ………….. maybe we’ll get our repairs completed within 5 years of the first quake !!!!

I wonder if it is too early to bring out the celebratory champagne?!?!
