A sad day as we said goodbye to my Uncle Ging – eventhough he hasn’t had ginger hair for many, many years that is the what he will always be to us.  A trickster, a prankster and a real gentleman with a heart of gold, and a well developed sense of fun.

His family were his world and they gave him a wonderful send off with lots of humour and lots of tears – but it is a time to remember, a time to offer support, and a time to catch up with extended family (some of whom I haven’t seen for more than 40 years).  So of course there were promises to keep in touch and to visit when we have more time.  I must keep those promises as these family bonds are very special and need to be treasured.
