We are in Wellington for a couple of days to visit the WWI and Gallipoli exhibitions at Te Papa and the National War Memorial. However for day one we just went for a walk along the waterfront, enjoyed a leisurely late lunch then went up the cable car to the Gardens and the Observatory (which had changed it’s hours from our advertising brochure and is now closed on Mondays).
This lighthouse slide appealed, but the blue skies are very deceptive as the southerly wind was absolutely freezing and eventhough we were well rugged up with coats and scarfs and gloves it was still very chilly.
Ironically this evening we went to the Lighthouse cinema to see the movie “Last Cab to Darwin” – very entertaining.
