Wellington has totally captured the WWI celebrations to commemorate 100 years since the end of the war.  The exhibition at the National War Memorial was very well done with many photos and displays of the passage of the war. Again we learnt heaps about our history and the absolute futility of this war (which we already knew).

Along the waterfront there are many displays for the commemorations but this metal plaque really appealed with the marching soldiers carved to the shape of a silver fern.
