After 3 hours at the dentist I now have a new digitally-restored tooth. The old tooth had a root canal filling 20 years ago so the old amalgam needed to be replaced with a new Cerec crown. A complicated process – grind away the old tooth, scan the gap, create a computer generated mould (as photographed), cut the new tooth from porcelain, glue into gap and grind to ensure a perfect fit. I find it a very successful treatment and relatively easy for me ……… but a very technical and demanding procedure by my highly skilled dentist.
