Over the last 10 years S1 and I have developed a love for ‘honest’ food’. You know… well grown, well cared for, well prepared and cooked.

We had shipped a book on Fish from Al Brown to the UK. I love the book, it’s an honest book, but there was one major problem. Most of the NZ fish in the book didn’t exist in the UK.

It sounds silly, but I’d never appreciate that there was such a difference in the regional seas!

Anyway, back in NZ and just the two of us away for the weekend, near the top of the list of things to do was visit his restaurant. It was fantastic and exactly the ‘honest’ style I hoped it would be.
