I popped out tonight as the Aurora was up… but there was nothing doing by the time my alerts came through.

So while I was waiting I pottered around with some night shots, something I haven’t done in far too long.

I was totally unprepared with the wrong gear, so technically this one is rubbish…

… but for a 3 min drive down the road and some casual shots, it’s almost criminal. Almost too easy.

I forgot just how amazing the New Zealand skies are.
