Walked along part of the Kennet and Avon canal and watched narrowboats negotiating the locks – plenty of action and a gorgeous day to be out and about.   The pathway took us to Pulteney Weir where we enjoyed lunch overlooking the river.

Walked through the central city before visiting No1 The Royal Crescent where we learned the history of these amazing apartments – not exactly what we expected as they were mostly rented for “The Season” by the wealthy landowners who lived at the country estates for the rest of the year.  An excellent experience with plenty of humorous anecdotes to keep us entertained.
