This fire started near Landsdowne  about 5.30 and the gusty ‘norwester soon had it raging up the hill and blazing wildly.  I heard on the news at 6 there was a fire near Halswell so went out to see if I could see anything – thought it was a big fire then, but by 9pm it was a raging inferno. 

I was going around to see S&S about 8.30 so ducked down to the corner to take a quick shot for G who is away tonight.   This is taken at Sabys Rd, and attached photo was taken at the Tosswell/Ellesmere Rd corner.
