Lochmara Lodge in Queen Charlotte Sound  is an amazing place with forest walks, sculptures. artworks and a great cafe.  A marine sanctuary is being established and eventhough the rays are wild they come in to be hand fed.  There is also an underwater viewing platform when a reef is being developed and we saw lots of fish and crayfish.

An excellent place for a day trip, an overnight stay, or a stopover while walking the Queen Charlotte Track.  We visited the easy way – by ferry through the sounds 🙂
