‘Manaakitanga’ feels especially poignant in the current COVID climate. It’s a te reo Māori word meaning: hospitality, kindness, generosity, and support. The process of showing respect, generosity and care for others.

As a leader, I firmly believe that when everyone treats everyone else’s mana as equal or greater than their own, then we as a community move forward. This is especially true working in the medical community. From how we foster new graduates, through to patient welfare and supporting new research. Together, we don’t just fix feet. We change lives.
