CJ had rugby this morning. He always comes home exhausted, but today there was no stopping as we then headed straight into town to get a few bits.
We charged him around town until he couldn’t charge any more…
We woke him when we got back to to the train to head home. His excitement was uncontrollable – a surprise train trip!
Satisfyingly, my hunch on the fix for the broken dryer was correct. Another half hour putting it all back together and it’s working perfectly.
There’s a small part of me which cringes at the thought it was a £3.50 capacitor that needed replacing. It was a £350 dryer and if I’d had to pay a repair man I wouldn’t expect any change from £100… it might have actually just been dumped if I couldn’t fix it.
I feel almost sad that the ‘fix it’ generation has passed and we live in such a throw away society.
For a couple of hours work I’ve fixed the dryer for almost free, and I’ve learnt a lot about them for the next time one breaks. A win win.
