Backblipped one year on
Home again as we our water supply was restored and we could use our toilets – YAY ………… but much of the eastern areas of the city still have portaloos or, the lucky ones, have chemical toilets.
This is Moira’s home where concrete blocks have fallen from the internal structural walls, concrete tiles have fallen through the roof, and all the windows were smashed – it is very dangerous and can’t be entered.
Note – one year on the house is still there, only more broken. Not sure why it hasn’t be demolished as it is a mess. The good news is that eventually Moira’s family did get inside,in very short bursts, to recover all her possessions, but she desperately wants to get a settlement on it and either rebuild on the site, or purchase elsewhere. She is in her 80’s so time is important for her.
