Homeward bound, eventhough most airlines weren’t flying to NZ because of volcanic ash.

Departure of our Cairns to Auckland flight was delayed, then we flew to Brisbane to take on more fuel so we could fly across the Tasman under the ash cloud. Of course that meant we missed our connection to Christchurch.

The crew on our Air NZ flight were fantastic. Very calm and kept us well informed of events as they happened. The ground crew at Auckland were also fantastic. The last flight to Christchurch was delayed to take passengers off our flight and everyone was very helpful in ensuring we could quickly get our bags, check through customs, travel from international to domestic terminal, and all the documentation required was handled super efficiently.

Well done Air NZ – you are the best 🙂
