The native Kaka are very cheeky birds, and were always in the trees waiting for a bit of food to be left where they could pinch it. Not that they took it far – mainly just sat beside us to eat their morsels.

One very cheeky bird hopped over and drank the orange juice out a glass on our breakfast table!! We are not supposed to feed them ‘people’ food, but they didn’t seem to read that in their rule book.
